Epidemiology Special Lecture

Previous years: 2012

1. Overview

To learn epidemiology, an excellent textbook is used (shown below). Technical terms are explained in both English and Japanese, since knowing Japanese terms is needed to read epidemiological research papers in Japanese and reports from MHLW.

Basically each chapter is assigned for one of the participants. The assigned student must prepare handouts and distribute them, and explain it in English. Other participants also should read the chapter in advance. Additional information is also given, if any. After that, open discussion will be done among all participants. Questions in the end of each chapter will be solved, if there is enough time.

2. Plan

The lecture is done in the second semester on Thursday, 13:00-14:30 (3rd time block) at GSICS 206.

Note: We don't have a class on 17th October 2013, due to ICHS intensive course at Myodani Campus. On 19 December 2013, also no class due to the absence of one student. Instead, we have an additional class on 9 January 2014 at 5th time-block.

3. Evaluation

Based on handout, presentation and discussion.
